I'm still surprised seeing people using this avatar and yet expecting respect.

well don't buy it then. if you can't afford $60 then it probably would be better for you to stockpile canned food or something.

Do you have internet over there?

I have to agree, this game is fairly expensive for an rts. The price tag alone suggests a money grab as opposed to a quality product that has the 'potential' of making more money with additional content. It's a big red flag for companies using previously successful titles 're-imagined' without the track record to prove their worth.

Either way it's the same price as GTA5, Fallout4 and other 'proven AAA' developers titles , but is it delivering the same amount of depth, quality, and overall measure of enjoyment?

Been observing streams and it really seems like an Ao3 re-skin with small maps and popcaps that are just annoying all without any 'new game features' from the original concepts of AoE series.

Seems like a quick cash grab, but I may be wrong. I hope I am wrong because I really would like to have a great RTS game in the style of the old games with NEW developmental concepts brought to the table, not some rehash that modern corp. devs can't even seem to get right.

I'd rather hold on to my money, especially without a demo since they have bad marks from AoE3 garbage.

I don't expect a great fix if it is anything remotely like Ao3. I am very cautious with this company and just dislike the entire direction they have taken it in. Unless they have changed their ways, price showing that they haven't, then I bet it isn't worth the price as it stands.

What is it with people and thinking someone's time and skills are worth less based on genre or platform? Genre has no bearing on the game's value or the effort required to make it. It also isn't worth less just because you live in a different part of the world. This stinks of "I don't have a job, give me free because not CoD".

Tell you what - go make an RTS game so I can tell you your time is less valuable.

The point that they made is that they are beggars that don't understand the value of money. If it wasn't worth $60, it wouldn't be selling on steam for $60. It is, so that makes you and OP wrong.

God, why so personal?

Most games release at 60 especially any RTS lol
Icke Oct 28, 2021 @ 2:03pm
I bought it online for around 40(€)... okayish price but would never spend 60 for AoE IV.
MisterSmellies Oct 28, 2021 @ 2:04pm
Use gamepass.
Parane Oct 28, 2021 @ 2:05pm
There are other outlets that sell the game cheaper. Anyone with half a brain knows this and takes advantage of it when buying games. Saying that, Microsoft aren't going to reduce the price because some random guy on the internet thinks it's too expensive.
