Is this seriously a game you enjoy?
It just seems....shallow. None of the decisions are particularly meaningful, it's all just kinda shoe-horned leftist drivel. I'm glad to have checked it out for 'free' on GamePass but I cant believe people would pay more than a few bucks for this experience?

Genuinely curious what you guy's got out of this. I just think it's odd they want you to make deep, impactful decisions but it's quite clear the narrative the devs are pursuing. For me there's no actual player impact because they've shoehorned the player into a position where clearly regardless of what I think, Tetrak or w/e is bad, Brigades good.

It's like a DnD campaign. You obtain certain skills through actions and unlock certains scenes with that. No narrative game is truly random, but it's masterful to craft a narrative out of randomly generated story elements. Of course main story elements happen in a certain order, but it's fun to compare your story to someone else's and what different experiences someone might have made. It's also interesting that, narratively, the protagonist doesn't matter. We barely even exist in the story, we're moreso of a concept.

Also, narrative-wise, it wouldn't make sense to show teens from the people in power. The prequel shows your their life if you're curious, but there's only a story if you follow the rebels.

My only issue is that I wish they focused a bit more on what made the teens flee. Maybe I've missed it in my playthrough, but I haven't really found the motivation. Maybe it's because it takes place in 1996 and I wasn't around to experience that generation of teens, but also they didn't really show why the teens were imprisoned. For fleeing? Maybe I didn't understand the ending frequence, truthfully. I still enjoyed playing every possible way to cross the border though. It's creative, there are enough sandbox games for that element to mess around with.
I keep coming back to it.

The original working title was "Lib Slop Guilt Simulator".

For me its actually one of the more rememberable "indie games" i played in the last couple of years. It just has something special. I dont know, mayby i just like the feeling, style and roadtrip vibe of the game. Jusant was pretty cool too, a different kind of game that made it special and rememberable.

typical cuckserative response
It's pretentious libfart "art" coming from people clearly of that ideological bent...and it's genuine to that side of things. But its stupid, tone-deaf, outdated, and harmless. Also said people aren't necessarily from the antifa sect of the left that would happy put most of us in death camps or against the wall. It's those not-so-little caveats that's go a long way with me and others who pay attention. The game is fun for what it is. The writers and developers are political morons, but their message and themes come from a genuine place.
