Quick new game plus question

So i kind of want to start my new game plus over (third lap now) and i assume to do that you need to press new game, but im worried if i do that itll start the whole thing over without the abilities and id really like it to be new game plus. Does picking new game allow you to choose plus again or would it make me play through the entire game again to unlock everything?

Okay so no, i tried it and it looks it does erase all your data if you do that. Fortunately i backed up my saves. So is there just no way to start over in new game plus then? I just have to finish the current loop before i can do another?

If it says "continue", then yes, you need to finish your current run.
