Pig with question mark above it?
right next to the horse you get in the starting area in Act 1 is a little pen with a Pig in it. that pig has a Question Mark over it on the Compass. as a massive moron that wants to explore everything possible i have to ask WHY is it there? is it a quest? an easter egg? a waste of time?

All the pigs and cows in the game are shown on the compass as question mark icons. Maybe it's an error and they didn't attach the correct icon or something, or it was actually intentional. Anyway, nothing to do with any quest or secret, that's just what their compass icon is.
oh ok. damn it, i was hoping for a secret Quest or something. i have spent nearly 12 hours rumaging around the Act 1 area to find this secret quest lol. oh well, time still well spent in my opinion. if a simple a thing as this could get me hyped for secrets, then knowing i have possibly 60+ hours ahead of me of Main Quest is making me drool at the possibility of finding ALL of the secrets!

I was thinking there'd be a way to speak to them somehow since you can actually speak to a chicken i HoS fort, but as yet I haven't found one

I think the ? above pigs, cows, chickens etc is from not having 'em in the bestiary yet. I killed a cow and a pig and they vanished afterwards, replaced with the similar red paw Deers have.
