Cannot get off Island in beginning

I played a few months ago, and had no problem leaving the asylum, I installed yesterday and now I cannot leave on the boat. I have talked to all three npcs extensively, and it's driving me nuts. I even started a new game and I can't. IT just says set up a camp. How do I set up a camp!?!? GOD HELP ME SOMEONE!!!

You must have not read the game prompts carefully, as they taught you how to build a campfire. You should first use the shortcut key Q, then right-click on the quick wheel interface, move the mouse to the campfire icon in the upper left corner, and click left. At this point, you can see a bonfire appearing. At this point, you also need to move the bonfire to the ground where it can be created, and finally press the button E to complete the creation. This bonfire is newly added in this major update of the game, and all added points after the upgrade must be completed through it. It cannot be added directly like before the game.

And im still stuck here - build the fire, slepped several times for 8 hours or so but dude still says i should rest.

I legit cannot either, I bring up the wheel and try to right click which does nothing, then go over to wheel which is greyed out. hmph.
