With the FOV I get flashbacks to playing as the Alien in the original AVP game ^^
How far does the FOV go back? Is there a setting to change for those of us who have ultrawide and super ultrawide? I want to see as much of the world as possible without looking at everything as if it is in my face. This is what has been holding me back from buying the game. Thanks.

Might be me, but there seems to be stretch/distortion/fish-eye at the sides, so it's not true ultrawide FOV?

In any event, I am of the firm opinion that "ultrawide" monitors are a trap. Beyond the myriad technical problems with making them work properly without the distortion effect, they should be called "ultra-short" instead of "ultra-wide", since the loss of vertical screen real estate is significant compared to a 16:9 screen with the same diagonal.

OLED TV is where it's really at. For me, 48" OLED TV (4K, HDR, 120Hz, G-Sync) is the sweet spot for a gaming monitor. Haven't seen anything better so far. The picture quality and screen size are such that it's like a literal window to another world.

Might be in that vid at more extreme UW render, but do not experience that on 3440x1440

That is indeed an opinion.

Tech problems? Not my experience at 3440x1440 at least.

Loss of vertical compared to 16:9? Maybe you do not understand but FOV varies from game to game and hopefully is an in-game setting, or edit to .ini file. So the correct way to render 21:9 is as an increase in horizontal FOV, but not a decrease in vertical FOV.

I would not purchase extreme ultrawide either, but play whatever works for you, and consider getting off the firm high horse.
