Combat is boring
A medieval sword fighting game needs to have a gore/dismemberment system or some type of varied finishing moves. just hacking and parrying is very dull.

read the store page this is not what they are aiming for and not some triple a title, If you read that then you would have no need for this post

Sounds like you're the one that needs a therapist. I like the game but Shlone just gave his opinion and in a very reasonable way. And the game is in EA so this is exactly the type of things the developers should be hearing from the people playing their game.

Personally I think the combat is okay and fun enough, but if they add blood/dismemberment and beefed up the impacts/effects it would improve the game greatly.

It has potencial indeed, im liking it so far, not even 2 hours in. The combat really needs more love, but what i liked the most are the dialogues, they feel mature you know, the devs dont care about ♥♥♥♥ skyrim cares about, catering to kids, not saying curse words, that sort of thing. It can only improve, keep the good work.
Yeah its 2023 we gotta leave those old mechanics & animations BEHIND!

Sounds like what you want is something like TES 5 Skysh*t, personally I hate the game for how dumbed-down it is and you're describing the current combat like TES 3 Morrowind, which I think is the best TES game so I can understand where you're coming from, but if the game gets some cringe finishing moves with slo-mo bullet time cameras and dismemberments, I might stop caring about the game at all. If this game is an RPG, it should be more about numbers and stats rather than some flashy moves, there are games like Dark Souls or Elden Ring for that - the roll like a chimpanzee simulators.

As long as they don't put in all that dark souls i-frame roll dodging .rap, I refunded all from soft game just because of that goofy mechanic, esp looks horrible in heavy armor and stuff hanging off it, for some reason people bring up Dark Souls combat as good, but all you do there is spam invincible Roll dodges and fast attacks or trying to circle behind the back. Little to no skill required, actually besides looking trashy.

I think these guys are on the right path -- Parry with enemy stagger, Push (kick in other games) and Dash Dodge with Stamina depleting that you have to time and keep stepping back. Just need to add a little more Umph to attacks in it based on the weapons. It's too buttery and weightless right now and feels almost turn based. But already better than Bethesda's combat in TES!

I agree. I really hope they add it as well as improve upon the animations and sounds. i really love this game but it is a diamond in the rough for sure. If they can pull this off this can be one of the best RPGs out there for sure.

p.s. they should also make it better for the opposing side, right now all humanoid swings and wacks at you look kind of limp wristed and half hearted, like they need to add a bit of crazy stuff from the enemies that sends you staggering and reeling a bit once in a while or makes you step back, like they grab that great sword with both hands and pummel you for real but not too flashy ninja like in assasins greed or ds, that would look out of place here
