Personally I think the combat is okay and fun enough, but if they add blood/dismemberment and beefed up the impacts/effects it would improve the game greatly.

I think these guys are on the right path -- Parry with enemy stagger, Push (kick in other games) and Dash Dodge with Stamina depleting that you have to time and keep stepping back. Just need to add a little more Umph to attacks in it based on the weapons. It's too buttery and weightless right now and feels almost turn based. But already better than Bethesda's combat in TES!
