I believe this is issue is caused by me having used DLSS Swapper to replace the older version of DLSS with the latest one which forces the game to reverify the files which then triggers Steam to do the same on next launching the game, as happened last night, and replace the updated file with the original one.
Now I get that this may be a problem with an online-only game, but this is a single player game, right, so why should it matter if I want to replace the DLSS with a newer version? If the game crashes or has issues then I just use DLSS Swapper to revert to the original version, problem solved!
One workaround would have been to use the NVIDIA App to force the latest version of DLSS via injection but, unfortunately, this game is not supported yet and doesn't show up in the list of recently played games on my system.
I really hope they remove this from the final build because no other single player I play behaves this way.
This is whacked out!
Was wondering if this might be the case. Mine's on an external drive. Might move it to C: if it continues after the initial post update run. Thanks! :)
