thanks - I'd played the demo a bit and i loved it!! It was Janky as hell naturally being in development but love where the devs are taking this.
meaning you love how the devs are actively scamming their playerbase? I mean, if that's how you feel, more power to you
"actively scamming", right. This pattern of posts\behaviour is not an opinion any longer, you are deliberately slandering this company again and again, disrupting their regular business.
I've reported ever one and quoted your posts so you cannot wash your lying stink away.
I'ts not slander when it's true, and it's all true and factual. Their developer's update posts are still on and people can verify everything I have said reading them.
Report what you want, I'm not stopping until developers address my question and make an official statement where they explain why are they trying to get away with promising features in official posts that they then go on not delivering.
March, so anytime now.
This is also something worth mentioning: the current patch available to early access players is not the 0.8, it's the 0.7, I believe. Early access users were never given access to 0.8, only closed beta testers.
To have a closed beta within an early access is already something a bit weird, as the purpose of early access is exactly to beta test during development stage, and to have 2 separate builds running at the same time for different audiences is usually considered a waste of money, but in this case the extra weirdness comes from the fact that access to closed beta was offered (proactively offered) to youtubers and influencers, especially targetting those who were more critical of the game in certain core aspects.
To clarify: it's not that youtubers and influencers applied to the closed beta and got in, the developers approached them and proactively offered to have access to closed beta 0.8. This was done around the same time they announced save stability from 0.9 onward, a price increase in 0.9 and a sale (I believe it was a 20% sale?).
So, in the same period of time you had youtubers showing people stuff they did not have access to in EA, the developers telling their audience that the price was gonna increase in 0.9 and the promise that playing the game in 0.9 would mean that the save could be carried over, so progress was going to be meaningful, all while the game was running a sale.
2 months after this, the developer comes out with "we promised that no more save wipes would be done after 0.9 but turns out we can't keep that promise" and the justification is "we need everyone to work on ps and xbox ports so we can't work on the features we promised to pc players", which at the moment are their only paying playerbase and literally the only ones pouring money into the project.
Think about it and do with this information what you will.
Its true, 0.7 is a currently available public version. 0.8 has been available to people who wanted to participate, you just had to sign up over the course of a month and then were granted access the following month.
They could certainly have granted access to certain influencers, and made deals to show that off, but thats not really a weird thing to do? Especially if every other people could just have applied if they wanted.
They havent given out access to 0.9 for „youtubers and influencers“ to all other non public versions tho. they partnered with ONE to produce preview content for them.
Having several branches or doing a focused playtesting isnt really a weird thing to do. Or a waste of money. You get feedback from people who care -> more feedback from these individual users -> less redundant feedback (because the same user wont report the same bug 50 times). Obviously your feedback will be biased, just have to keep that in mind.
Brother. You're all over the forum, and dedicating so much energy to this. I urge you to step away from PC, and find joy and meaning in something else.
Most everyone is ok with EA save wipes despite your valid claims that it was advertised differently.
I respect that you're not ok with it, and I respect that you believe it was deliberate, (fact is we don't know the truth because we are on the outside looking in.)
But you can't demand anything from anyone (especially the devs), and your attempts at trying to control something much bigger than yourself, is just going to add more negativity to your life. Trust me. It's draining and not worth it.
You can place that time and energy somewhere else, where you'll be happier. Wish you the best man.
