Game constantly re-verifying files

For whatever reasons every time there is an update my game needs to verify file integrity. Is this a normal occurrence,or is something wrong with my install ? I would have sworn other games i have played havent needed to do it with EVERY little patch.

Dev commented in another topic like this-- it's apparently intended. At least for now as updates are frequent.

It's after each update. There have just been a couple of updates lately.
