Lots of spoilers about the secret skill tree. Don't click if you don't want to read them.
So. I came across a man in the hospital who gave me a "gift". The quest requires infecting two NPCs with the plague and I'm worried about the long-term consequences. I'd really like to get the Red Death skills, but how does that affect the ending? I was surprised to see Arthur's sister (I didn't even know she existed). Does anyone have any information about the impact on the ending or the city? Will it turn out that the whole city will die because of me? Or that in the end I won't be put in a cage and sent for experiments or something like that?))) I'm not aiming for the most ideal ending (and is there even such a thing in this game?), but I don't want a really bad ending either((

To raise the post up, in the hope that there will be someone who has gone through these skills to the end.
No consequences.
Hospital... is this in Act !, 2, or 3? I care not about that secret skill tree just seeing Arthur's sister lol.

I read that some (not written which) important NPC will comment on this. Is all this unimportant? Thanks for responding) Otherwise I can't play further until I know if it's worth the risk))

This is the second act. There in the city in the hospital a man Ignatius sits on a bed and talks about the gift.)

You can see where it is on the map if you google "Red death skills".

There are actually some pretty good skills there. For example, you can't be damaged more than 25% of your HP with one hit.

I'm curious about that one myself. I've given only 2 of my chars the hidden tree as I bet there are some hefty consequences. But then again the scene with A's sister makes me wonder if it's only an "addition" to the game for people to discover. Then I see the permanent buff "obedient beyond death" (rough translation - playing the german version) and this makes me worried again... :lunar2019shockedpig:

I don't know about the impact on endings, but deep into act 3 I haven't seen any noticeable consequences yet. The npcs you are giving the gift are both still alive.
I remember one side note in a conversation mentioning that I don't have to worry about the perfect obedience (de-)buff anymore, although it didn't get removed afterwards.

I remember at the end of Act2, when you meet the false all-mother she removes that status "blind obedience" or whatever it was called.
Interesting. In one of the endings you become the ruler of Avalon, but die from the Red Death. And if there are these skills, how will it all end?))
