I maxed out melee 1 handed am level 30 , i can kill most things easily but the shades at night are ridiculously OP, takes around 15 hits. Yet I can 1 shot most humans.
I dont know, the combat balance just feels weird.
All I do is run in tight circles, it bugs out enemy pathing, or I just charge in sprint mode then let go a heavy attack as I run past. It really is quite cheesy
however they shouldnt take that long nor be a tread.
you might consider upgrading your equipment.
I challenged and killed the Knight outside Kamelot, his gear was OP. I added fire rune and other stuff to his armor.
I'll still play their games, but they aren't trendsetting anymore and they should be. They need AI NPC's where you can have conversations with them and you can pickup with anyone where you left off. To me that is where AAA story/questing needs to go. Oh and a lot more cinematic variation during conversations. Lets get some f'in players moving around as they speak, camera angles adding tone, see movies and mimic. But nah, stand there like a puppet on a string. That's how you get BORING.
I like both. I also like and play Cubic Odyssey, and I'll be buying Dune Awakening because I can focus on multiple games at once. This "either, or" attitude so prevalent in games forums is so quaint.
I don't give a crap about fish swimming in the water, and I only bothered to catch ONE fish in 20+ hours, for the cheese quest. That's all that fish mean to me in the game. 🙂
This game is so clunky, weaker graphics, lacks detail, no fish in the ocean, no life in towns, economy is silly, horse riding is awful. Ui is awful.
No dungeon mapping
Stash boxes /lol
3rd person, awful
Lock picking is like 1 of 4 choices
NPC/enemy my sword just passes through / cant be killed
Combats a joke ( you can cheese every fight in this game )
Everything else is just a copy of Oblivion
No swimming fish !!!!!
No arrow mechanics
Summoned pets are annoying AF
I dont hate this game, but its just a basic Oblivion clone with some fresh artwork
Sadly Dune Awakening .... all I will say is dont get your hopes up, they cashed in on the movie franchise all I am saying
Thye will be patching for a while and I can assure you all ES games release buggy, even their latest Stahfield. Daggerfall would crash so early in and that was like Compuserve days of the internet where discussion and fixes didn't exist. You just stood there with your disks in one and and a thumb up the bum in the other.
From my pov:
Gfx fine and you should know if you are ok with that before even buying.
Fishes details, don't care. But noted.
Economy is silly in all ES games and this isn't any better.
Horse riding, don't use, feel I get around fine without. But noted.
What's wrong with the stash box?
I play first, 3rd person was added late and stated, still developing.
Lockpicking is fine, I prefer it easier anyway, it's going to be opened.
NPC enemy sword thing, I don't understand you.
Combats are a joke, ES is too. Actually the boss fights in Avalon are more boss like than ES. ES boss fights were nearly like fighting any other. No special work on them, not even a boss bar.
Back to fish, don't care, not noting this time.
Arrows have a drop to them, wym no mechanics?
Everything else being a copy of Oblivion: UI isn't, UI better in Avalon. Avalon shows much greater stat detail than Oblivion. Avalon doesn't rely heavily on 3 VA's using the same voice for dozens of characters. No parry in Oblivion. No slide in Oblivion if I recall correctly.
Summon Pets are getting something done to them this week. (Again ES games always needed patches)
This is the companies second game and the two games are vastly different. This is a solid first attempt in a genre like this where there isn't a lot of people making this style. What's to ♥♥♥♥ on? I'm loving these AA's right now, they're getting better and better. These aren't driven by wall street games so as they continue on they'll get better and better making games to the style players want.
I prefer the first town, it lacks something to the seconds to click like the first one did, maybe some polish on vegetations and tree. But overall all of the two are really good.
