Mage is the way. you can reset later if you want to go a melee build. iFFFFF you chose for melee. Go for Boink build. Daggers Are WAYYY TO LATE game

I'm on stealth archer man, it's painful. Guess I'll just lower the difficulty for this fight

just use magic & dodge his attacks.
dont remember the name of the spell i used but it applies a bleed dot & heals you.
made it feel like i was bullying him rather than properly fighting him.

Bleed Ring, Poison Weapon or coating with debuff perks. That's how I did it.

Was really "fun" with a stealth archer build. Who ever had the bright idea that all bosses get introduced in a cutscene and the fight starts right in front of them needs to be fired into the sun.
Had to kite him around the room for like 20 minutes and use 95% of my health items in the process. >.>

AND then after he died his squires came in and one shot me which was fun too.
Luckily i saved after the kill so on reload they just clustered around the entry door without detecting me so i could actually use my class build as intended and snipe them.

Not a fun fight for ranged or stealth builds.

Scorching Blast is how I did for him, took 3 hits but each one sent him flying. Didn't get a chance to strike back I am of course totally perked into spell power atm. good points with that spell it launches your opponent often stunning and has a massive range
Skill issue

I used one wolf summon to distract him and schooled him with my 2h lightning mace.
The fight wouldn't be so bad if he didn't keep drinking those 25% heal potions
leave, get stronger, return. what i had to do.
Parry, Dodge, and manage your stamina better.
Used Dashes + Thunder longbow (one you got on one of the castle roofs in the drown village... Since bow demands 4 points of magic - summoned few minions, who destracted him, while I dashed away and then shoot arrows...

Parrying and dodging worked well for me.

i use a critical focused dual wield build and i killed him within the king power time slow ability on the highest difficulty. I used Ravencrest Executioner and oldsteel sword along crit boosting equipment and the ability to instantly recharge stamina when you crit.

somethings to do for bosses is to make sure you got decent attack speed and ways of keeping your stamina up.

you will be able to spam like 20 attacks during the time slow and kill most bosses.

Had a terrible 20 minutes fight, wanted to use summons but they died in one hit most of the time, he drank 4 potions to keep on fighting but I got it in the end, having used every health and mana potions I had... Only for his knights to show up and kill me because I couldn't get out of that damn cave. I'll just grind for a few more hours I guess.
