If so that is a bad design setup. They should at least just keep the list of id's and despawn the items until you need access to the buyback section and then do a query. Having it perpetually calculated within the world would cause huge performance drops.
If this really is the case i don't know how it wasn't picked up in Early Access. I mean performance will eventually degrade for everyone over time the more they sell. A pretty glaring issue, if i'm right of course...
Do you know how long it takes for the items to be removed?
Merchant in my game seems to be holding on to them indefinitely. I don't see the point beyond the "Oh, whoops, didn't mean to sell that", but I don't think there is any need for them to hold on to items past 24 in game hours, or vendor restock.
My game has absolutely tanked to unplayable levels after grinding out crafting skills and I'd be surprised if this isn't the cause.
That is also a possibility, since we don't know how they are handling the item management, but I will assume it "should" not since people usually do hoard unique items and weapons but who knows.
Keeping items in the stash does not seem to affect my fps. I got thousands of items in it.
