How to fight the Wyrd Fore Dweller Knight?
By now i have end up just ignoring him and running away, i have tried to fight him many times now, but i am doing something wrong clearly i feel, when i start throwing spells at him and fight him it is a rough fight but the main issue is he every time just randomly decides to vanish. I don't know why in the middle of the night he just puff out of exsistance, but it is frustrating spending many ressources to try and fight something that just decides at half health to just puff out of exsistance for apperently no reason and then a minute later reapearing with max health again....

This game is amazing fun, plenty jank, bugs and issues everywhere, but generally enjoying my time except for this one Fore dweller knight that just loves making my game a pain...

any suggestions on how to actually fight him proper?

I'm in the same boat, I do next to no damage to them, and they 1 or 2 hit kill me. Really unsatisfying whilst I'm trying to play at night. Either make him reasonable to kill or don't let him spawn during Act 1 where he's effectively ruining night time game play.

Oh I am far into the second map and he is still ruining my night time experiance, I have beaten many bosses and this dude just the boss over them all from the looks of it now.

He's not immune to bleed stalling :)

Please good human, release the information that rids us of this annoyingly foul beast! What is this 'bleed stalling' you refer to? ^_^
Have you tried sicking summons on him and using ranged blood spell at the same time. just keep spamming wolves or shamblers.

Lol xD My summons always, and I mean ALWAYS ignore him. I haven't had much luck with summon AI when it comes to bosses and stuff. Frustrating, as I was enjoying the playstyle, so have had to move away from it. I'm not the only human suffering with sad summon AI :(

Certain summons are pretty good mostly for keeping them occupied while you slaughter them. Don't forget your slo mo spell.

I finally beat him as a mage and it was a slog. The only thing that made me progress was to stagger and stun him. Once his stamina ran out, he would go down for 2 seconds, which doesn't add much damage, but also also the bleed from crits... Afterwards, I looked at the numbers. Bleed was roughly 30 dps at one point and it was almost unnoticeable. Dude has like 500k hp easily. It's absurd how strong he is and I think mages have the worst of it. Legit 10 minute fight started at 10pm and finished at 5am, almost despawning him. Running around trying a 1k dmg charge cube, i filled it in 2 kills vs deserters and I 2 shotted them.

Applying endless bleed stacks on him while waiting for him to die, and not dying yourself. Can be done with the ring, or the blood spells.

For context, I was using a greatsword that applies bleed per hit, and using the bleed ring, so 2 stacks per hit. Once he gets to around 60 stacks of bleed on him, his health loss is very noticeable.

I had over a 100 stacks on him before giving up on this tactic because I couldn't see the damage. I'm on Adventurer. Lightning was superior.

Oh, tbf, I *do* have the "Statuses do more damage" perk
So i got the ring that trigger bleed on hit, combine with dual wield "Winter's crone's wrath" spell and hug him and spam shoot into him, got to about 800 stacks or some of bleed, got the ekstra status damage perk and combined with high crit chance and draining his stamina on crit hit, that and chance to stagger, he hardly got a hit in on me and ended up melting in no time. felt a little overpowered and game breaking, but easy way to deal with him finally :D

Thanks for the tips all :) Winter's Crone Shotgun and Bleed stacking got me the win. Now I can enjoy night time again xD
As a dual-wielding melee build I got no idea how to deal with him. I learnt to parry most of his attacks apart from one that always seems to get me no matter where I stand (when he hits the ground). I only just finished the first zone so not sure if I should have found the bleed ring everyone here mentions and I doubt I can use the winter spell efficiently

Do a strong attack then dodge back until its dead, just like any enemy in the game.
