Best bows chapter 1+2?

These seem to be the contenders from what I have gathered:

-Thunderous Greatbow. Slightly lower base damage, but adds 30 extra damage at the cost of mana. Also looks pretty cool + very easy to see where your shots hit if you're sniping from far away

-Giant Bow: highest base damage tied with powerbow. Deals AoE damage on impact. AoE scales with upgrades

-Powerbow: Giant Bow but it pierces instead of dealing AoE which IMO makes it weaker

-Elebow of your choice, typically frost: it is what it is

It would seem that it was pretty unanimously agreed upon that the Powerbow was BiS, however I'm not sure how outdated this information was and whether or not it was prior to other added rare bows.

Previously the bow required 15 dex but got "nerfed" now requiring 6 str 6 dex. This means that you have several wasted points in Str similar to other greatbow variants.

Currently using the thunderous greatbow, was curious if anyone else has found alternatives with higher damage?

i went to grab the thunderous great bow right off and i havent seen anything even remotely close in terms of being better yet and im nearly done with act 2

I use the composite bow that you can pick up on the broken stairs in front of the left lighthouse on the 1st map. The damage number isn't the highest, but it draws super fast compared to the other bows I've come across. The damage number can be compensated for by dumping gold & meteorite ore into it to increase the damage.

I am level 18 and using a composite bow that I upgraded a few times and added two relic slots onto it. I am using +sneak damage and +damage. Hits very hard at my level.

Thunderous is absolutely OP... I think I've one-shot every single bounty board target.

Thunderous for opening damage against big targets, usually one shots bounties. Basic composite bow for just running around shooting stuff. Tons of damage and really fast draw/low stamina consumption. Everything else has been too gimmicky or just bad. A case could be made for wraithbow... but it seemed too meh.

I have a bow that costs 5hp per shot but causes heavy bleeding. I use piercing arrows for added bleed.

i find that different bow has differnat staman cost so when you look at bow it is not just the damage you need to look at stamina per draw as well.

I once did a Compound Bow only run in 0.9. The bow is a normal white item, but it has very fast draw speed (compared to other bows) and has good damage. I upgraded it and used ice arrows.
You can find one Compound Bow early in the lighthouse area.

Thunderous bow with wyrdbone arrows is king. I mean : great base dmg + 60 dmg + weakspot + critical (25%ring) + sneak + 25%dmg ring ? Wtf. It one shot everything and 3 shot bosses on veteran.

Best Bow is Drevan's bow, highest base dmg, 57-62 25% ranged crit, and another extra 25% crit chance when stamina below 20%, considering it's a greatbow, it's easy to be in that threshold, with the ranged crit ring, and a few points in perception it's 100% crit chance guaranteed on every shot. It's slow, but it hurts enough to kill wyrdspawns, minibosses in one shot, you don't even need the sneak boost dmg, that's how strong this thing is.
You can find this bow in the wheat farm in cuanacht if i remember, the guy is a drunk and will gift you this bow in exchange of ale.

Will there be anything better than Thunderous Bow? I am in act 2 atm, found the tripple shot bow which is nice against multiple enemies but does anything come close to Thunderous Bow in terms of damage? If you spec into bows, the high stamina costs aren't even that bad.

Nevermind I got a bow from a drunken dude simply by giving him alcohol and boy that bow is insane wtf.

I have found that the sanguine bow is amazing. Especially stacked with a ton of other bleed options from elsewhere. Nothing can stand against it.
