Update your DLSS
Played for around 6 hours or so. Definitely has some stutter here and there. Asset loading / shader comp issues. I went to the tavern where people have / had issues. FPS dropped mid to high 40s. Manually updated the DLSS and it bumped me back to a locked 60. (No other changes of any kind)

Thnks
DLSS swaper doesn't seem to find the dlss file for this game, is that normal ? It says N/A but it found it for my other games like Mh Wilds or even Cash Cleaner. But not Avalon.

My old 1.0.5 DLSS swapper shows it just fine.

If it isn't showing use the first method in the guide. I know its for sons of the forest but as mentioned the process is the same.

BUMP - The game got an update. Since it checks file integrity on launch after update and initial launch (first time booting the game) it will say files corrupted and close the game down. Steam will then verify files when you click play. After that the game will also check files once more. After the final check close the game down and replace the DLSS file again. You will more than likely need to do this every single update unless the devs replace 1 file themselves.

Yeah, and download a new cpu and gpu too if you have the bandwidth. 👍

problem is DLSS is badly/weirdly implemented in this game, it would help if it was done properly

It could be better yes but updating to the latest release is still an improvement. Rons Tavern is one of the worst early game areas and updating made a very noticeable difference. The blur is also reduced.

Yeah, I have been using the STP scaling, looks the same with better performance.
Are you sure its the DLSS? The game has some leaking issues that require me to restart the game. Sometimes goes from 50 -> 80 in literally the same location.

When i first played the game on 1.0 launch there was really bad smearing and ghosting with the DLSS on but once I updated it to newest version the smearing and ghosting went away.

The ghosting was really bad especially in the demo. I also crashed in the demo but not in the full game (not yet anyway).

Haven't noticed any leaking issues though its entirely possible. I did test Rons Tavern a few times. Staring at the wall was 60, turning round immediately dropped frames. With updated DLSS I can't reproduce the problem. I'm inclined to believe its DLSS. I'd recommend updating just to see if you have any improvement on your end because pcs are weird and personal experience can differ. Hopefully the devs will update to the latest version.

If anything, updating will reduce the blur - ghosting - smearing. Which is great.
