Massive difficulty spike between the horns of the south and Cuanacht.
I've completed most side-quests I could find in the horns of the south as far as I can tell, and the main story has led me to Cuanacht. I'm level 20. For some reason, enemies deal ridiculous amounts of damage right from the start of the area (the monsters who shoot lasers with their eyes kill me in one hit, these spriggan-type enemies instantly kill me with two fire balls). I feel like the difficulty spike is so high that perhaps I missed something in the first map?

I am at lvl 22, in first area atm, I havent done the dal rita stuff yet. Did you do the 2 places(atleast that I have found) that require the excaliber?

I've got the Excalibur, I entered Cuanacht because I need to find some shield. That's why I'm wondering why there is such a difficulty spike all of a sudden.
Level 22 here - I entered Cuanacht - Spell Caster - I 1 shot literally everything (ON VETERAN) -_-

1 Single Charged Lightning Bolt

1 Single Charged Flame Wave

I'm beginning to think summons are bugged and the spell damage stacking is stacking somehow and not falling off when summoning new summons?!

Not sure though - having the exact opposite experience, I was just about to make a post about this - Wondering if other spell casters are scratching their head right now.

Oh - and also - the charged Ice-bolt that is a shot-gun when you tap it - The SHOT gun version almost 1 taps everything - It absolutely DEMOLISHES bosses up close.

Makes up for how dumb the summons are tbh, not upset.. just curious
Maybe for your difficulty it is more like 30ish level area
Same experience here. Im going for summoner build with "destruction" magic and while first zone was a walk in the park once I got the wolf summon the 2nd zone is just impossible, I cant get past the three first enemies wth

Where are these places?
I mean it makes sense, you're going into a higher level area, you're going to be weak at first. The struggle is half the fun.
I went to 2nd area at lvl 24 as a melee with gs mobs dont kill me at one hit but they take many hits till they die
I have lifeleeching on hit and some points in endu so I can take a lot to die as well
Im level 23, just entered the Act 2 area after cleaning out the first map and following the main story, and yeah holy crap! I still one shot a couple of the peasants but the battlemage dude was tougher than the Galahad fight by a mile which seems quite imbalanced IMO. My character is strength, endurance and dexterity focused. I also think the stat requirements for gear is quite rigid, I’m still locked out of most of what I found in the first area. I think the requirements should ease up a bit to allow for experimenting with different builds and play styles, presently I think you’re supposed to just dump into a couple of stats or you will run into a difficulty block like this when progressing. There are definitely some balance issues. The second act should certainly be more challenging but, locked out of your stash or any crafting benches you shouldn’t be struggling with the first few low level enemies you encounter after maxing out the first area. Loving this game, but needs a little adjusting.
It really helps to use the blacksmith to upgrade gear. Boosts enchantment strength and damage mitigation

Stronger summons or Mana Shield (or the rogue/King perks to save you from dying

Pump multi food items for stacked regen, dodge, etc
yeah experiencing this now. the first region I have done all quest's I can find, so I went to the second region... the enemies are tanky and do a ton of damage. though could be that I haven't upgraded my gear much due to them needing meteorite.

either way I can make it through the area, but have to use cheese tactics or run in circles until the enemies are dead
