Honest Opinion from Scrolls Veterans? EDIT: Combat is Game Ruining
Is this actually good or am i going to refund this within 20 minutes because its some low tier garbage

Ive read concerning things about the enemies running back to spawn points and healing themselves instead of being more organic and walking around/ actually chasing you. Does this game have any physics at all or are we tlaking bare bones basic game with no unique systems? I dont expect same level as a bethesda rpg but...something similar would be nice?

Edit: Most people have positive things to say generally, so I bought it, but I am ready to hit that refund button. I know what I look for in a game and will know pretty fast if I will want to keep this or not. I will report here with my results.

EDIT #2: Well..Combat is absolutely terrible in this game and might have been the nail in the coffin for me. 2 combat encounters and I already decided I cannot see myself enjoying this for a long period of time. Its so slow, clunky and just doesnt "feel good" to hit your enemies. Huge major fail there. Refunding game now after my 3rd combat encounter. Just absolute dog **** and 100% poorly designed. Really disappointing because everything else was fantastic. It is clear a lot of you either have low standards or are completely delusional

OH and the enemies will run back to spawn like an MMO if you stray too far while fighting them then they heal back to 100% lmao. Super bad game design choice

Try the demo?
Am a scrolls veteran myself since Morrowind was released. This game... it is a blast. Grimdark like Warhammer, engaging combat and it is part of a truly awesome IP - the Tainted Grail universe is a very interesting one.
Don't know if the demo is version 1.0 already - earlier builds are totally not what this game now is.
This game offers numerous unexpected elements. However, players primarily focused on exploration in similar titles may find the narrative-driven structure less engaging, as the main storyline is a significant component. The game features many worthwhile side quests, rich with intrigue and humor. I recommend a deliberate pace to fully appreciate the immersive world and its extensive content, including player housing. Furthermore, mod support is planned for the near future.

My remark at the top is because most scrolls players never beat the campaign.
Depends on what you like about Elder Scrolls. If you want more of a slower, grimdark, soulslike version of Elder Scrolls with spongy enemies and clunkier combat, then you might like it.

If you just want Elder Scrolls, you probably won't like it as much.

But yeah, try the demo I guess?

If you want something similar to Elder Scrolls it's only halfway there, the combat is a jank fest and unbalanced. Mobs that are damage sponges and one shot you mixed in with fodder make no sense. It's pretty rough around the edges still. Give it more time imo.

I refunded this game in early access like 6 months ago because it felt half baked and too much of a derivative scrolls experience, but without its charm.
I think the game is fantastic. Im a big fan of skyrim and oblivion, fallout, most of their games.
This game is like skyrim, except in the world of avalon and king author. And yes, it has the classic "Jank" and I think its great.
For a game like this, of this scale, being made by a smaller studio is incredible.
Has tons of lore, books, notes, like skyrim in that sense.
Interesting npc's and dialog . Tons of quests and hidden quest . Spells, swords, bows, summons, romance, and a dark open world environment with tons of secrets and interesting places.
Performance could be better, but I absolutely would say to get this if this is your kind of game. It can only get better from here with patches and stuff like that. Now that 1.0 is finally released :)
It's fun. If you like Oblivion, you'll likely enjoy the way the game plays.

The combat is dodge oriented though, you cannot just spam heals and tank hits, you MUST learn to parry or dodge.

I played today over 6 hours . imo its good . you want to explore . the combat is good enough to keep you want to improve since its not easy. story and atemosphere is amazing. visually most of time it looks amazing. only down side charactor models 100% need some HD texture that my biggest take away. yes it worth 45$ for sure. alot of content . so many side quest already .map is big . i know its just 1st map .
you need to manage your stamina and mana alot or you get run over by enemy. they hit hard even on normal difficulty . also you usually facing a group of few of them so .
also seems to have big crafting system in place from start so you can see it has deapth . also seems alot of build can be made . skill tree is huge

I've just killed every major npc during the tutorial just to be curious about what kind of run it might become.
Its good. Performance is still pretty bad. Hasnt changed much in 2 years. Besides that, it doesnt disappoint. So id wait for some performance patches.
(Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim from the 360 to Ps4 then to PC) No Redguard or Battlespire though lol

Is this a joke or can you legit kil;l random npcs?

I'm in the tutorial area (just wrapping up) and yeah, it's basicaly a doomer version of elderscrolls. The combat is similar, people standup and react to you similar, the stat lines are similar (got athletics + sneak skill in tutorial leveled just walking around), lock picking is like skyrim, dual weilding is like skyrim, it's just like a scary gloomy adult version of skyrim/oblivion.

RE performance, i haven't left the prison yet but i'm getting a comfortable 100-120 fps with DLSS turned on, 1440p and high settings with a 5800x3d / 3080.

I dunno if I'm a Scrolls Veteran because I only started playing Scrolls games when Arena released... but yeah, this game is awesome... it's a whole lot harder than your Skyrims and Oblivions though (Just standing around tanking damage is most certainly going to get you killed).
I also just love the monster designs in this... I'm a sucker for cool monsters.
