shield/cloak combo is OP TL;DR Block of Ice Shield, Flaming Cloak and armor augment
So, thought magic was pretty OP as it was. Some of the spells in the game are just straight up mean. Like the spell that fires ice shards that, when charged up, fires one lance of ice that pretty much auto-freezes any enemy you hit with it, even bosses.

Then there is the other fireball spell, not ember, the bigger one, that does more damage than merlins thorns AND does both AoE and burning elemental without even being charged up like ember needs to be.

Ok, pretty sick so far, very unfair.

Then you get to summons. Can have up to 5 skele boys following you around that can regenerate health at a % of your magic regen and can infinitely summon them while enemies fight.

Kinda cool, but they don't have a lot of defense, so they get killed easy by higher level enemies, but they make great distractions.

Walk around with all that, you're pretty much god tier and nothing will touch you, right?

This is even worse.

Shield called Block of Ice, literally that's all it is, just big spiky ice shield.

It says whenever enemies hit you, they take chill %. Pretty much any enemy that hits you twice gets frozen.

Burning cloak, any enemy that is close by takes burning %.

Add in armor augment to the cloak that says any enemy that hits you gets set on fire.

Now, you don't even need summons or spells, just stand there and block.

Enemy will freeze themselves and get set on fire while they are stun locked in the freeze.

If they don't die, just let them hit your shield a couple more times, boom, frozen again.

You don't even have to attack, just defend and they will kill themselves.

Of course not great on ranged enemies, but that's what the fireballs and skeletons are for :)

I'm a fan of shields, but this strategy sounds like it would take forever! Might be better just to smack them with the shield.

It actually doesn't take long at all because it happens to all enemies in range simultaneously and burn damage seems to do % health per second rather than a flat rate, so even the beefiest enemies in the game die within 3-4 applications of burn, smaller enemies faster.

Sure, you could do it a LOT faster by just casting straight magic, but for a super lazy shield build, it's still pretty crazy :P
