Invest in the right perks.
I used dexterity --> bows, the first perk, "Marksman" , "Strong Back" and "Proper Draw Technique".
Also use a bow with high draw speed. Thje compound bow (not sure if this is the right name) has high damage and high draw speed. You can find this bow early in the lighthouse area. Needs 5 endurance, if I remember right.
Use frost arrows, especially iron frost arrows.

Perks help but I was one shotting most enemies before i even got the perks as you can pick up quite a few rings and an amulet that give you a decent boost to your stuff and when I say most enemies I mean enemies relative to where I was at I wasn't hunting down outlaws at lvl 5. That being said what the previous guy said will help. Weakspot damage is gonna be what gives you those clean kills though in addition to a good bow and good arrows. The thunderous greatbow is busted and all you need to do is go down the beach if i remember right north of the main town there's a bunch of undead there but the bow is hidden up on a ledge on one of the farther towers. Its a little wooden ledge that I think if you go around you should see the wall before the dead town there ends.

theres a potion that gives double draw speed for 30 seconds iirc

Also for the archer build i'm sure draw speed is important but we should be abundantly clear if he's looking for one shotting creatures draw speed isn't gonna do anything. Also the fact that you almost completely stop moving when shooting a bow makes it very difficult to have bows be "in combat" useful they are mostly for initiating combat or ensuring it lasts only a second. I switch over almost immediately to 1h shield if there are multiples and I can't kill them before they get to me. Also this is anecdotal experience with the 1h and shield I"m not saying you can't do straight archer just that I find it smoother to do 1h shield as fall back.
