0.9: READ IF YOU'RE EXPERIENCING TROJAN POPUP

Older versions of Windows Defender might flag the game as a trojan or virus. Don’t worry—it’s a false alarm and we already got Microsoft to correct that, but it might take a few days before being fully updated. We have special step-by-step instructions from Microsoft on how to get this resolved if this problem still persists.

First of all, try restoring the "Fall of Avalon" threat in the Windows Security panel:

1. On your Windows device, open Windows Security.
2. Select Virus & threat protection and then, under Current threats, select Protection history.
3. If you have a list of items, you can filter on Quarantined Items.
4. Select an item you want to keep (in this case, "Fall of Avalon"), and choose "Restore".

Then, check if you have any Windows updates available, especially the Windows Defender or security intelligence updates. If that's the case, install them.

If the above does not work, try using the command console:

1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory to c:\Program Files\Windows Defender
2. Run MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures
3. Run MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate

If this still does not work, you can set our game to "allowed" in your Windows Defender settings. If you are uncomfortable allowing the game to run like that, you may need to wait for future updates. We're trying to do our best to make this work, but unfortunately, there's only so much we can do right now :(

yesterday game ran with no problems. today, windows defender snagged it as a trojan. I'm trying your fixes but so far nothing is working

Updating the definitions manually via cmd seems to have helped

Will test the dev posted solutions, but they need to understand how absurd it is to have the average user deal with the exe being deleted, running command prompts that affect their security, or potentially bypassing their security.

To be clear I keep my definitions on all my AV suite up to date on daily basis, but i presume that from the cmds listed that some sort of definition cache is the issue ... if they ever actually resolved the issue with MS as they say ...

Tech savvy people can follow this, but the average user will never see the forums and probably just refund the game.

From further glancing at the forums I can already see they had the same problem with a different file/program in 2023 and from watching yotubers that got me to buy the game they were aware of the issue before the public release of the new update.

Why should 100, 000 people have to do workarounds for your game to work? C'mon now. Get it in one sock already. It was flagged two days ago, I made sure window updates were good. Today it flagged again, and I uninstalled it after the I played the demo. Those files should be gone already.

in the quest all along the watchtower cant find the last tag for the quest ,, fix it by letting the dungeon spawn zombies when im out side for sometime

i killed everything and looted everything and cant find the last tag there are no enemies inside

windows machine learning is flagging the main game as a trojan. how do you expect them to remove that xd

Game exe is being flagged as a Trojan again after today's patch. Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.A!ml

I set it to allowed and still keeps happening. Hopefully this gets taken care of...before we go to the reviews.

I haven't had any luck getting around this. I guess I'll have to wait for an update.

Edit: I've done everything listed here. I've complete uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I can load a save, but as soon as I die and load last checkpoint, or try to reload a save in game. It crashes to desktop and repeats the process of defender freaking out. So unfortunately can't continue 0.9 :(
