Devs on this game made a clear promise it would not happen which is when I parted with my money. Then lied about. Yes this happens on EA's but being mislead from set false expectations is different.
How many more lies or rampant fibbing do I need to sit here and just accept from this dev before launch?
There is no good reasons to keep the game. You are 100% right, I had your same experience, except for the fact that I cannot refund the game as I'm past the 2 hours mark.
If you are still somehow able to claim the refund, you should absolutely refund, and leave a negative review. What they're doing here is not normal.
The standard disclaimer for EA products does not really apply when the developers post and inform everyone that there won't be anymore save wipes past a certain date. They have played this game not once but twice, to inflate their sales a bit.
My advice is to still try and claim a refund with steam, explaining to them what the developer did in the refund request. They may ignore a few occasional refund request, but if they receive enough of them mentioning the false advertisement, they might end up looking into it and take action to protect the playerbase.
I appreciate the sentiment
My game is beyond the 14 days of purchase.
Any request I process will be auto denied on this basis.
They follow the 2 hour thing pretty strictly too.
Its not the only game on steam that pulled a stunt on me.
Its why I called this out in this post. Its not on, and I'll leave it a negative review, even if I enjoyed the game (Eventually) for employing such a tactic.
Customer service is half the ticket.
Its not a scam, stop being an entitled children, they are giving feedback all the time, they informed you of the wipes, the game is in EA, something we shouldnt even have to point out for you. Scamming is a crime, and so is accusing someone of a crime.
They have promised in their update on December 17 that 0.9 would have stable saves and no more wipes, meaning that saves from 0.9 onwards were guaranteed to carry over in 1.0.
They even invited people to buy the game at that time with a small discount and the story of the price increase from 0.9.
Sales went up as expected, since people who had the game on wishlist and were keeping an eye on it waiting for save stability to buy were enticed to buy. Then they waited for sales to went down again, and what a coincidence: a couple of weeks once sales are down again (and nobody who bought it in December/January can now refund) they announce that the save stability in 0.9 was a lie and there will be other save wipes.
This is misleading behaviour and false advertisement. This, my dear, is fraud.
If you are so cocky about telling others what to do with their money and make assumptions on their finances based on a very reasonable and understandable frustration when they are misled and scammed, maybe you should be on the Ramsey Show instead of flaming people on videogame forums
Slandering this small company of devs, saying they are stealing from people when the truth is, YOU simply did not READ and\or understand what buying an Early Access game means. www.rif.org
No more words needed. Even the dev said that there will be no more wipe. I prefer the wibe as to deal with bugs.
