Just finished act 1 [spoilers]

After speaking to Arthur...what to do next? is there no quest which would lead me to Act 2?

Thats an end of a main storyline for early access.
Now you can visit the 2nd region and do some small quests, or wait for full release

There are gates at the northern side of the map that lead to an another large area. It has plenty of stuff to discover, quests, although it is overall less fleshed out and more buggy than the Southern area.

How? I have 19 hours and I've only just reached the Dal Riata camp near the temple. I even use the fast travel fairly often. Do you play stealth archer?

Nah, on contruary two handed sword + light armor, when i finished act 1 i had lvl 26, Im playing on Medium diff
I even reached Dal Riata camp before getting quest to get there, took all quests there, done them, went back to Horns on foot, only then got quest to go there, so it was fairly quick for me to progress further without muck backtracking, basically i did full cirlce on the map counter clock wise before progressing
