Um.. the game won't load in?

I installed it again earlier this week. Trying to play it and it just loads in a purple tree? You get a momentary splash screen, then it goes to this purple tree with the wind blowing and leaves falling.

I assumed it was some fancy shader screen of sorts, but there's no loading bar or anything signifying the game is doing anything outside of just putting a purple tree on the wrong monitor. CPU/GPU/VRAM/RAM are all between 15-30%. I verified integrity of the files and it's running on an SSD.

I played this back in September and it was perfectly fine, in fact a great experience. I don't understand what the purple tree is

I have this same problem. I refunded the game and bought it on GOG thinking that would help... it has the same issue.

I have also been getting this. Glad its known, but do you have a fix?!

do you have any old controllers plugged into your pc? there were other threads with this causing issues

I have an 8bitdo gamepad and that didn't work for me. Still borked.
