[Minor Spoilers] The Abyss

So, what's the gist of this quest? I don't usually have problems with wrapping my head around twisted causalities and timetravel-ish stuff, but this quest ist just ... odd.
You jump down the abyss, fight some wyrd creatures and fae, float up a mirror image of the abyss, kill more fae and destroy some ... object which teleports you back to the "original" abyss, only now none of the mad knight stuff and wyrd spirits or corpses is there and the original cave is now just a bear's lair.

Obviously a "Lost" ref. (easter egg) I saw a white bear at the end of the quest. ;)

Ty ! It was my first thought when I saw this guy urging us to take is place "preventing a big danger by doing something that seems pointless" and the white bear was the little clue I needed to be a bit most confident about this being a potential easter egg. You guys are awsome. The writting is so great. Love your game so much. All the NPC are so alive, I'm so invested in their story !

(I hate Dicun as much as I love Ó Cuinn Sagecannelle, Herber, Ron or Frang...)

So is the entire quest an easter egg or does some of it have relevance to the story/world of Avalon?
