How to claim Excalibur?

I repaired the gong, spoke to the NPC, went to the sword, tried to tajk the sword, spoke to our guardian spirit, then got shunted out of the vision. Now how do I take Excalibur? It's still there, I can't find any new item in my inventory and the "...and steal Excalibur from the Horns of the South" is still there. What do I do?

I have this same problem. Watched the whole movie, asked all the questions, but no Excalibur in inventory or quest update.

if i am not mistaken you can't take it yet as that is main story and for now there is no main story progression, just the new region

Probably the same way I'm carrying a small economy and warband worth of food, materials and equipment in my pockets?

0.9 and either the gong qest is just straight locked or bugged. honestly. i think its at this pint. there refining the gong and the parts to get ready for full open release

I think the point of the quest is to obtain the soul within Excalibur, not to take the sword itself. That may change in 1.0, though.

wolf? whats the problem with the gong quest?
go to island get the broken gong, bring it to a blacksmith for repairs, bring it back, get a ring gong animation into sleeping, talk to nessy, wake up, tell the captain n join their ranks. what part doesnt work?
