Can't get off the initial Island

The three characters are there with the boat. The main guy told me to go rest. I have no idea how to do that. I've run around the entire island. This is so unintuitive.

I beat it all the way up to getting Excalibur before and decided to play the new update, but it deleted my save data and I have no idea how I got off the island that time.

EDIT: It's for The Great Escape and my current active objective is "I should set up camp." Caradoc just tells me to get rest. I've exhausted all dialogue options for the other characters.

And yes, I tried googling. Nothing helpful. All of the youtube videos of it cut off before leaving the island.

EDIT: Also, there's no sail option on the boat.

They told you to set up your bonfire and told you how in the on screen tutorial. As a recap: Press q to bring up your quick select wheel thing. Then right click to go to the second page of it. Select the bonfire option. Place a bonfire. Interact with it and you can cook, rest, level up etc. After resting there you should be able to sail I believe.

After that I believe you have to click on the boat and select something like set sail to continue
