Trying to finish Blacksmiths quest

I have collected several tools around the quest marker for the upgrade materials quest, no option for upgrade/sharpening. What am I missing?

I found the sharpening stone on a different quest, is that how you finish several of these?

For the Upgrade Materials quest, you can find the sharpening stone in the Sunken Village. The game does badly in explaining where to look in both the Blacksmith dialogue that there's a workshop in the village and also the quest marker doesn't exactly point you to the item. (When the blacksmith said "workshop" I was looking for either a door to Interact with or an actual workshop-related building.)

Solution: There is a Hard - Reinforced Chest in the Sunken Village that contains the stone.

I missed this on my first completion of Act I and thought the quest was bugged.

The UI honestly needs a lot of improvement. I had to look it up to figure out how to do anything more than put slots on a weapon.

I noticed if you are talking to/in the blacksmith menu past the time he normally goes back into his house you can still click on the upgrade option but cant upgrade. go sleep and come back in the morning and it worked again.
