I hear Morrowind Comparisons…is it like that?

I am about 10 hours in and its open enough for an early access game. Obviously there is a limited number of things to do but I still have not finished everything and you can ignore the main quest for quite a while with the side activities.

More linear and smaller areas to explore compared to Morrowind.

No. Morrowind is far too kind for this game. Morrowind is one of my favourites of all time and this game just completely lacks the freedom to be compared.

I would say it's Oblivion with a Skyrim Magic system. Except less well defined, an much smaller world, less interesting npcs and no possibility of anyone modding anything cool into the game.

If you've played Skyrim with and without mods over 1000 hours and don't mind mid gameplay, it's fine. I don't mind it. I don't majorly love it, but its a good time waster.

It's the only new thing like that around, so I'll take what I can get. Bethesda seems to have completely gone bonkers (StarPuke) and I'm not aware of anything remotely similar (with 3d high end graphics, on the market or in the works, but there are one dev pixel art rpg's with even more freedom than Morrowind. It's similar to Morrowind and Skyrim in that combat is rudimentary and forgettable, lol, but it's not what these games are about. The lore is strong and well thought out, but this is an old tabletop setting

It's now the age of copycats, Souls-Like trash, Online, rail guided looter shooters etc... cookie cutter imitation garbage. Market pressures I guess, everyone has to be the same so it sells more copies and roll around in heavy armor with i-frames like a moron

only gonna focus on this. The game might open up much more than it is right now down the line. We can not know yet how big the game will be on full release, so that should be taken into account in my personal opinion.

Also, they do plan to add modding support, down the line, but simply want to focus on finishing the main game first, instead of splitting time between the game and modding tools.

Honestly feels like what Avowed was in the initial trailer. I think this will end up being better than Avowed at full release.

Why do people think avowed will be bad? I don't get it the first trailer showed nothing, and the gameplay trailer really wasn't bad. I will never understand the masses.

I don't understand why people would think that an indie game like this would be anywhere near the caliber of Avowed. Obsidian has a solid track record of delivering great stories. And they have a large Pillars of Eternity game world to expand upon. It's not their first go around. I'm excited for Avowed.

As for this game, I commend the TG devs for creating something out of nothing with a much smaller team. I finished Chapter 1. It's a little rough but I had fun. I can't wait to see what they come up with moving forward. Is it better than Skyrim? Uh, no. But that's OK.
