Devs haven't made any announcement on this for now but I think female characters 'll be brought later. It would make sense especially for Dol Riatha faction and random bandits.

A female character is in fact addressed by the NPCs as "she". But apart from that character creation is pointless for now since you only ever see your character in the inventory screen, but not in game. This only becomes relevant when 3rd person may get implemented.

the assassin bounty is supposed to be a woman, even speaks as a woman but halfway through my fight with her she turned into a male and swapped voices lol

Even if third person is'nt yet implemented, the female character model appear into the character creation and, as you say, in the inventory screen. In case the third person isn't implemented, at least there will be not really impact to the immersion (Daggerfall for exemple).

meh. Cyberpunk had the same thing until one patch added mirror reflection, yet character creation was extensive. Morrowind and Oblivion didn't have functional 3rd person, although you could look at yourself with TAB and mouse. It's all about immersion.

For some it is already a thing if they know they do not have to play a guy. It is not always about esthetics, but about being represented in a game, especially if you are a woman in real life.

For some it is already a thing if they know they do not have to play a guy. It is not always about esthetics, but about being represented in a game, especially if you are a woman in real life.

Its a fantasy game, it's not supposed to represent anyone in real life. If people want to see themselves represented in a game they should go make one about themselves and call it self-obsessed narcissist simulator.
