refinery
any thoughts to whether to go single or multi? assumption being resources are finite, why go single?

i'm thinking about layouts. 1st game i had a bunch of single refineries next to extractors.. then find out the upgrades have to be paid for.

2nd game, i started using multi refineries. ended up all messy as i was building stuff essentially around 1 multi refinery.

was thinking maybe if i do another start, i should stick with multies, but lump them all together in a row and everything else of in rows too and pipe everything to a central location.

or maybe i should stick a multi next to an extractor and pipe everything to a central storage area with 1 belt trunk, and sort everything into silos that then pump into various smelter hubs?
or maybe 2 belt trunks and split off the slag to up speed. i seem to be spending way too much cash on conveyors.

Once you get the MDR, you can just send it to dig up thousands and thousands of units of regolith with whatever resource you need from off-base areas. Might even be you can build more of them later.

Personally, with what's available in the demo so far at least, my plan was single refineries for extractors, and a multi that will be piped right into the vehicle drop-off facility so whatever type of resource I feel I need more of, the multi can process what the MDR digs up and then send it on ahead to wherever it's needed from there. Save some annoyance with needing to pipe regolith left, right and center every time the MDR brings back some other type than what the currently connected single refinery product line would be equipped to process and store.
