Maybe I'm just stupid... where is the elevator?

Buildings don't give any hovering tips to indicate what they are and there's not an elevator to build where I can use the image as a reference. Also, everything seems to be powered up so nothing seems to need power which is the step I'm on currently

Edit: so i found it, just below the batterys but hooking it up seems to do nothing going to try and restart.

I think its meant to be where that rover just vanishes into the void but yeah my elevator is also missing.

Just finished enough to get a good feel- my tip.... click around on everything more.... like ten times. Kinda confusing- a tutorial woulda been great.

I think the big problem is in the intro you don't own any of the buildings. Buildings you own have tooltips on hover (you can see this when you're asked to build solar panels/batteries, yours have tooltips, the pre-existing ones don't), but the elevator isn't yours at the start, which means yes it's very hard to find. I was looking for something way bigger.
