For me it was Silicone! So prioritize everything my last run through I was 3 days short of finishing. So went back to the save just before the MDR mission and now leisurely building and not stressing about days to finish. I did mention it before it became a thing after the Devs confirmed this was the trigger. They also mentioned it was subject to change.
I'm not sure how I feel about this part of game progress...its a challenge for sure and that's a good thing but I like playing a game and am a casual type of player and thats why (I think) I am attracted to these types of games. Perhaps have the mission not so have that finality of you dont make it - Its all over to if you don't make you don't get the <reward>. I dunno a piece of tech, some goodies - something a bit more palatable than a slap in the face and everything you have worked hard has gone up in smoke. (Uh oh just like in real life!).
SUBJECT TO CHANGE!
I repicked this up while playing other games, while the devs worked on some annoying bugs. 3 months later, and they changed the Laser Triggering event. I niether built the repeater or the MDR mission and it just kicked me into the laser mission on the countdown.
Not sure which one I did that triggered it, but starting from scratch with many saves..
