Story mode complete?

Apologize if the answer is obvious or has been answered before.

I see that the story mode will be included in early access but is it a complete story? As in there's a beginning and a definitive "end".

I know they have plans to significantly expand the story campaign (Alternate campaign, different endings, etc).

Basically, I'm not too fond of cliffhangers... and I was wondering if they're going the Larian route from BG3, where they release only pieces of the story and save the big ending until release.

Still going to get the game anyway but I'd like to manage my expectations. If this is the case then I'll just stick with the sandbox mode until the campaign has a definitive end.

ah i just checked the discord: there is already an update, storyline mode should NOT be locked :) restart steam and get the update! :D

youtubers can play the campaign though... If it's locked, try exiting and starting again?

Strange... I was under the impression that some parts of the story were going to be included, based on what I see from recent youtube streamers (actual characters voice acted, the intro event, story decisiions etc)...maybe I was mistaken and the early access players just have access to the sandbox mode?

Q4 2024 says "chapter III" - so i would guess it is not the complete story right now :(
