MDR will only mine Rare earth and regolith.
I have scanned a good sized area and can see the different deposits, but when i select "Titanium on the MDR and send it to where there are rich titanium deposits it only says it will mine "Rare Earth's" and it do mine those, but i do not want rare earth's. I want titanium. If i select on the MDR other resources, again it will only mine "Rare Earth's".

Am I doing something wrong or is it bugged.

The MDR just mines, you dont select what it mines (I might be wrong, i dont know what that selection on the MDR does), but its either rare earth minerals or regolith, you need the receiver station to send it to a multi regolith refiner and that separates the minerals. it also creates a ridiculous amount of slag so make sure you dont block up your facility!

also you need to set your cargo receiver outputs as rare earth minerals don go to a regolith refinery, so one or more conveyors to multi regolith refinery and one or more to rare erth minerals storage.

The regolith it mines needs to be refined to get the metals out.

No it is supposed to mine the oxides that players then melt in the furnaces, but it wont mine the silicon, titanium, aluminium or iron oxides, it will only mine rare earth oxide.

If you hover over the MDR, it should give you a breakdown of what it returns. Yes, in the truck, it shows only Rare Earth, and Regolith.

The 'regolith' is broken down into the percentages as reported, there. You'll want to send this regolith through the Multi-Regolith refineries to fully extract all the goodness.

Its the MDR that when i select titanium or iron ect it always shows and only mines rare earths and "regolith" it do not show the "oxide" that the MDR image shows on the selection.
So this is just a dev oversite where it shows e.g. titanium on the MDR selection but when it mines it only shows as Rare earths and regolith ?

The selection tool on the MDR does not seem to control what oxides you mine, but it seems to show how much of that specific ore/oxide is in the regolith you're mining (and in the case of rare earth, it shows how much rare earth...).

As some already mentioned, it does mine the oxides, but it's mixed in with other stuff in regolith, which you'll need to refine.

Instead of sticking to your perceprion of how it's supposed to work and pointing to the dev for an oversight, consider that you might have assumed wrongly the workings of, in this case, the MDR, oxides and regolith.

Thanks for clearing that up. j

Just to say. "My" perception of how it was to work was based upon the selection boxes for different ore types on the MDR. Now i know how thins thing works, i can deduce that the MDR oxides shown are the yield potential of the area, which is shown on the moon map from the rovers scans anyway. Perhaps the info for MDR function and how to use correctly is detailed in the tutorial, which i never done, just jumped into the DEMO that from which i then purchased full game and went from there.
