New trigger for laser mission???

NVM it took about 5 mins to kick in. So its still the same.

Thus far I've mined the entire underground base and built my own MDR, and laser has not activated.

However when I did go to the MDR mission, the Laser Mission is triggered, and still only was able to get about 1/2 into Level 4 before running out of everything again.

So I start over from a saved game before the mission. This is a new game from the most recent patch.

in the current version of the game the laser gun mission will not trigger unless you complete the MDR repair quest

I started a new game 30th OCT, and I just had the laser task trigger without the MDR repair. seems like it may now be date based. I had audio saying that they have found the rock coming towards us.

I also have not triggered the MDR repair, but in a previous branch save the laser gun was triggered by completing the other minor missions . at present stockpiling everything.

For me it was the charity contract. The laser quest triggered and I didn't do the MDR quest

Started a new game with current version.

I got the MDR quest before I even made the repeater, even though they say the repeater found the MDR. Shortly after that, even though I have not gone to the MDR yet, the laser gun quest has kicked off.

It might have been after I did the charity contract. I just completed that recently.
