(Spoiler Alert) After constructing the laser to save the Earth, what happens next? For me, nothing happens, so I wanted to know if this is normal, a bug, or if the next part of the game hasn't been implemented yet...

Nothing happened with me either but the quest is still counting down and has about 100 days left to run.

Well the timer timed out and nothing happened. I expected a cut scene to show the laser blasting the rock but zippo.

But you can still play the game or not. Does it just stop or can you continue building etc?

I believe that is it so far. There is more story and campaign coming in future updates.

If you completed the Laser quest on time, you can continue build your production without time limits, it's pretty much like a sandbox after this point.

The rest of the story would be implemented later.
