Haven't recieved a single contract

I've been playing for a couple of hours now and I'm over 1 year into my base. I chose to save the people from the space station but ultimately failed as I did not have my oxygen production ready on time.

But in all that time I haven't got a single contract offering yet. When I click on my launchpad and go to contracts, it displays "system damaged" and when I hover my cursor over it it says "unavailable. The contract system was damaged after the explosion. Time is required for recovery".

Is it normal to still not be able to do contracts 1 year into the game?

I'm selling my produce for a nice buck, but that gets old quick.

I think you have to get the tech for contracts (on social tree, IIRC). I had that "damaged" image too, but after I got the tech, I was able to get contracts. After some success with some contracts, there are so many available it's bananas.

In hard mode (side with Crust to rescue the crew), after you complete the room quest fully (including the lab and medical block) then Ledger will appear to begin his quests that unlock contracts. Once you get through all of them (by completing or denying), the regular contracts will open up at the next midnight game day.

Yup hardmode, Contracts are for the weak lol jk
