Well i don't know others but i seem to having issue to have too much materials and really could use at least double sized maximum storage.

Also slag should be able to use some other things.
i have soon half million units around of ground just stored to keep my multi functional machines working and all i can do that is planting or bricks...

and its not like you can remove and replace the boxes as you loose the items inside cause the bots don't replace the goods from the side panel, i have 1.2k rare material on the side, but had to remove the container, Now my rare ore factory wont work as it needs the ore, same with the Components i have loads of them on the side panel, but in the storage containers their is not any. same with other items, loads on he side panel But the bots don't use that so its just stupid Numbers.
Also 156k Slag But machine still needs it haha work that out ffs, stupid resource system tbh, game Should still be in Alpha testing.

you don't lose the materials that were inside it. They just appear on the ground in a little pile. When you build the new storage, make sure to set it to allow drones dropping things in and they will quickly pick it all up and out it in the new storage bin. Also, you can just more storage bins and then connect them to the first one and the mats will flow down in a chain.

NO that don't happen, you will loose everything that is in the box,well not loose they are still in game But in the side panel showing all your stuff, But they don't appear back in game until you make new ones, i have lots of high tech parts on a storage bay, when i removed the storage bay and move it somewhere else they build it and it stays empty until new ones are made.
And dropping items only happens when you remove a Belt.

You need to tell robots to pick up the stuff on the ground. If they have some place to store it, they will pick it up.

you don't lose the stuff, I replaced all my normal storages with big ones and never lost the goods, as said before they drop on the ground.
you can set items on the ground to high priority to get them picked up faster.
