Imma leave it to be completed and polished now.
Perhaps there should be a price cap for early access games
General advice - always wait for the release, no matter how long it takes.
But for those who would like to participate in game development, EA is a great option.
Played 62 Hrs before EA, game was not crashed even once.
There really are bugs, but that didn’t stop me from opening everything that could be opened.
there is a difference between whats normal for EA an here we have devs that obviously barely knows how to code.
its like its their art department doing the entire game. for real.
part where i disagree:
Overall the game works quite well, i had about 4-5 crashes in 52 hours, performance of the game is okay, it runs pretty stable and without FPS drops.
Modules do what they're supposed to do.
Colonists now do what they're supposed to do (they no longer work themselves to death).
Drones work as they should, however default priority for certain tasks & buildings need to be adjusted,
Conveyor belts work as they should.
Contracts are working properly, with some exceptions like when contract are created with 0days deadlines or 1000/day single category research reward.
part that agrees:
Ofc some major stuff like not able to unload cargo depot or colonists working themselves to death should not have made it into EA.
conclusion:
Overall i think the state they've released it in was okay for early access, afterall over 95% of the game seems to be working fine.
and yeah i get the whole "you don't have to buy it" part.
it crashes for me once every couple of hours and the conveyer belts need constantly dismantling and rebuilding to get them working, especially in advanced setups with elevators.
dont get me wrong its still a fun game, but it is a long way from finished and i look forward to the journey
Curious, which belt tiers were they? i used some 1/2/3 for underground stuff, some tier 1/2 with elevators (6 elevators, all inputs/outputs used), tier1/2 belts for surface stuff and didn't run into any issues yet.
Early Acces IS Beta or Alpha normaly. Otherwise, there is no need to be Early Acces. Early Acces is: Pay to take a look, EARLY, into the future game. It's not finished, it's not ready to play, not ready for fun. If you don't want this, early acces is the wrong way for you. There are tons of finished games. If you want to play a finished game, take one. If you want to support a game with money and feedback, then go to early acces. Nobody force you to buy it, thats the why it's pointless to say "when we'll get paid for being beta testers". No, you don't get money, because you are skilled enough to earn money and skilled enough to buy something. Why are not skilled enough to inform yourself, before you buy something?
Again: Early acces is EARLY.
And no: Because it's here at steam is no reason to be "more stable or whatever". Steam is just a platform. Other projects are buyable at homepages. Where's the difference? There is no difference. You can buy it most times here or at another source. It's up to what you choose.
