Where's the best place to send the MDR for each different resource type?

You ideally to want get the scanner upgrade for your rovers first, which allows you to drive about and scan the surrounding area and find the best resource spots.

You can drill randomly which will show you in the MDR window what resource you're sitting over but it makes a lot of sense to get the rover upgrade first. you can then use the overlay buttons in the bottom right of the moon map to find the resource you want.
