"Out of video memory" error

Hi,
After the patches on 18 July, when I try starting/loading a game it crashes with an "Out of video memory" error.

I have a GTX 1070 with 8GB ram and the game was running fine until the patches on 18 July.
It was running at 1920x1080 with preset Epic.

I tried to lower the resolution and preset settings but it still crashes.

Anyone else with the same issue?
Is there any workaround?

Hoping a for a patch soon.

PS: The game is excellent so far.

Played just fine this morning, paused a bit and restarted again and I have the same error as you...
So no idea...

Edit: I launched a sand box game and it worked. But I can't load my previous game it says the error out of video memory...

Launched a sand box game and it is working for me as well, including saving and loading it.
Looks like old saves are causing the issue.

In the same boat - worked fine until yesterday afternoon and now can't load my save no matter what I do to lower the graphics settings.

i get thew same message out of video memory when i try to continue or reload a saved game i end up having to restart a new game every time on story mode

Thats not an error. Thats just pointer to what is throwing the error...

I have noticed a massive increase in memory usage on story mode. Was pretty constant at ~2300mb, now > 5000mb. I think it has something to do with the games calculations happening regardless of if those calculations should happen (pause the game and you still get the science amounts updating, water usage updating, ect)

I think if you have a bunch of tabs open on the internet it limits the memory to the game. I have a 4090 BUT i live in a rural area and only have 100 mps fiber so I would imagine it's the ISP speed.

If you are using an Intel chip you may need to "fix" your CPU using Intels Extreme Tuning app.
Fixes all issues I have with anything UE related

My settings are

AVX2 Ratio Offset - all the way down
core 1 - 50x
core 2 to 4 - 49x
5 and 6 - 48x
7 and 8 - 47x

Thats the only things I changed
Not sure if that helps but it works for me.
