Another option is that you'd normally find a second truck just outside the garage. Switch to that either when you're next to it, or from the map, restore it to the garage, and retain that to go to Alaska.
You don't have to stay in Alaska, it just forces you to go as the tutorial on how to switch regions. Once you're there you can switch right back to Black River and go back to what you were doing. You really shouldn't try to do much in Alaska at the start of the game since it will be hard to get around with your crappy tires.
Is there no way to remove the night from the game? The darkness hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. I just want to play during the daytime. I couldn't find an option to shut it off.
Thanks.
Select ‘garage’ from global map - bottom of screen- then when you enter garage you can spawn your truck, customise it there. Just retain any trucks you want to ship around the maps with garages that you’ve unlocked and spawn them on those maps. You will know what map your currently on as there will be an icon top left on the global screen. Select first map then select ‘enter garage’ and your truck will be in it. You can store around 6 vehicles per garage (off top head) move left or right and you will see spaces next to the truck you’ve got in the garage -top screen shows ‘dots’ to indicate spaces.
Just remember to select ‘retain’ truck otherwise it will not ‘follow you’ to other garages on other maps
I tried to use another truck to get it unstuck and got that one stuck too. I almost gave up but then I brought a third truck and got that one stuck but I used a tree to get it out. I had a chain of 3 trucks pulling out of a swamp. It took 2 hours but I got them all out and drove them back to the garage.
Now I know not to get stuck like that again. But was happy I didn't give up. I wasn't going to hit the reset button.
Best game ever.
In the early game when you're still running with crappy tires it can be difficult going. As you start to level up and unlock better tires things get easier.
If you want to make your early game easier, once you've got about 90k in cash, go to Russia and buy the Azov 64131. It's an 8wd that will have a much easier time than any of the trucks you've got access to. It's a little slow and it's turning radius is poor, but it gets great fuel mileage and has a nice large tank.
Yeah once you get better tires and better trucks - because not all tires are the same performance on each truck - even if they are for snow/mud.
Also, if your trucks are getting stuck every 10 feet, try a different route. You got a pickup at the start of the game and there's another scout vehicle in Black River you can claim for free. Spend some time exploring the map and trying to activate watchtowers. Some of them will reveal new upgrades while most will reveal new missions.
Near the first bridge you fixed is a paved road with a roadblock on it. Fix that first. You'll get cash and XP and make it easier to get to other parts of the map.
Also, follow the road north out of town to the roadblock. Fix that to get access to the tunnel to Smithville Dam. It has more roadblocks to fix.
In the early game, your priority should be visiting watchtowers to expose the map, (use a scout) and opening up roads. (fix bridges and roadblocks) This applies to all maps and regions. Once you can see the map and get around you can start running other missions.
In the early game, you should have 3 trucks. The Chev pickup, The GMC 9500 that you were sent to and used to fix the bridge, and the Fleetstar 2070A that you find outside the garage.
Since the 9500 can't have AWD till you can manage fairly advanced regions (Kola Peninsula) sell that and make the Fleetstar your main hauling truck.
Once you've earned enough that selling the Fleetstar will get you enough to buy the Azov 64131, sell it and go to Russia, get the Azov and go back to Michigan with it.
There's also multiple vehicles to be found on all of the maps. When you find a new truck, see if you can change to it in the function menu. If you can, restore it to the garage, look at what upgrades are available for it, and if it doesn't seem useful, sell it.
Pay attention to locked upgrades. It will usually tell you what region you'll find it on to unlock it.
Look carefully for trucks on exposed areas of maps. If you find one, go check it out. It might be a mission, or it might be a free truck. Other than the 3 I mentioned earlier, there's 2 other free trucks in Black River and at least 3 in SmithVille Dam.
