Fix for no feedback and heavy wheel

Hi everyone,
So after playing a bit i noticed that the wheel (G920) was heavy as hell (the wheel was becoming hot as well) and no feeback.

so i have found a "fix"
Use directinput
the config then is up to you.

here is somethings i change (G920):

  • forcefeeback : 1.00
  • Tilt Gain: 0.60
  • Friction base /gain: 0.30
  • Spring gain: 0.60
  • Collison gain: 0.60

I hope i helped some people

Enjoy

is your wheel the G920?
do you have logitech G hub installed and the driveres updated?
because in the other games it works fine and on this one i have to put it in direct in put and worked like a charm.

How do I enable directinput? I have the G920 too, and the steering is horrible. but not hot, nor even warm.

In the SETTINGS go to STEERING WHEEL SETTINGS, and change the TYPE at the top from "Logitch Legacy" or "Trueforce" (should only be needed for G923) to "Direct Input".

What app are you using? I have G-HUB and recently installed LGS, both installed, but LGS seems to have merged into G-HUB. at least it looks the same. I don't seem to have any manual settings other than basic sliders for pedals. I hate this new phone app looking interface. it seems non-configurable.

These instruction are for Snowrunner.

Thank you for your response.

I figured it out right after my post. At first it kept crashing the game when I selected the G920 wheel and put it in direct input mode. It didn't even close the menu. as soon as I selected direct input. crashola.

Then, I uninstalled all logitech software. of course it didn't recognize the wheel without the driver present.

I decided to use the LGS gaming software, and it showed up immediately in the game as having a , "Press A to Continue" and it took me to the main menu of the game.

I was stoked. But then, in-game, the steering was still stiff. I could get it to turn slightly with a lot of force (wheel is still at 900 degrees rotation)

I tried all the settings in the game menu to get the wheel to soften the turning, but it never got any better.

Maybe later I will try the newer G-HUB after I uninstall LGS, reboot PC, then install G-HUB?

Thanks again for your help.

Things just got weirder for me. My G920 has been nothing but stiff in Snowrunner when trying to use it with Logitech’s G Hub software and setting the game option to Direct Input did nothing. However, Logitech updated G Hub yesterday, and now the G920 works by setting it to Direct Input, although there is no FFB and centering, but more annoying is that the latest version of G Hub is causing Snowrunner to generate a crash dump error box immediately after loading the main menu.

The game runs fine as long as I don’t close the crash dump error box until I’ve finished playing and then it just closes Snowrunner. So it definitely looks like Logitech could well be the ones responsible for the G920 not working correctly in the game.

Yeah, I had that error yesterday as well, but but I didn't try to play. I just sent an error report. and it crashed when I clicked send.

Maybe I can try again when I get home.

OK, I just tested it. It seems to fix the steering sensitivity. but t still doesn't turn. I put almost everything to 10%, so maybe I need more configuration to do?

Do you use 3 pedals with your G920?
I am asking as I can not play the game with that combination (G920+3pedals): The reversing-bug occurs.

With which input device do you accelerate and brake and shift and clutch?
Mr J Jul 1, 2021 @ 3:43am
Yes, I use pedals, but only the throttle and brake as I use the automatic gearbox on my trucks. The pedals work just fine. I have the steering wheel just set to ‘Logitech G920’ though.
