Ability to play with Epic Store users ?

I hope it is an option to play together between Steam and Epic. And speaking of that, anyone here up for coop ? I am driving solo thus far, in the first country, still first and second location and finishing them up.

thats a shame..... its the same freaking platform.
I cannot understand people trying to tell epic and steam is a different platform its all freaking PC there is litterly no excuse that multiplayer will not work right away.

Players need to authenticate with the multiplayer servers, so if you keep multiplayer on the Epic servers, then everyone who wants crossplay needs to make an Epic account. That was how Mudrunner worked, and many players did not understand it, and others did not want it.

Also, the game is coming out on the Microsoft store, with yet another authentication system. To get all of these systems talking to each other (Epic Online Services / Steamworks / Xbox Live) does not work "right away".

It is probably setup that way by design to improve sales. I got the base game for free on Epic, so any friends I recruit will be on the Epic Platform. I don't like it, but it makes since from a marketing standpoint.
