ps4 to pc crossplay not working

buddy of mine and I have been trying for months to play the game and he keeps getting an error "invitation by code has failed". we were using mods before and joining each other just fine but now, even unmodded nothing works. is crossplay just not supported anymore? are we missing something? this is a last ditch plea before we both quit the game entirely

Maybe the game is being abandoned by the devs.

I recommend contacting Saber directly so they can provide you specific steps to try and fix it. co-op is buggy, but it does work. I have over a thousand hours in co-op and have been playing it almost exclusively for a few months.

Most likely issue is you are typing to code incorrectly. il10o all look exactly the same in the font they use. You both should try copying/pasting the codes.

im not just talking about coop, im talking crossplay. and no, were not typing the code in wrong, I already copy paste it to be sure. we've been trying over, and over and over, for months. it used to work fine without any issues, and then it stopped. first guy was almost definitely right, the devs are probably changing their server support focus solely to expeditions

There is no "server support". This is a P2P system, so please explain where "almost definitely right" comes into play. Lack of education and random bs posted on these forums is outrageous. so then if you know everything about the game and its crossplay support then tell me whats actually happening. because yeah, it used to work completely fine for months at a time. we changed nothing. we typed the passwords in correctly. we kept our settings correct. and yet, even in vanilla, it stopped working and has not begun to work again since. tell me exactly what is wrong. because i guarantee you if its something that could have happened on our side, we've tried everything, we've set everything correctly as it was before. we, the players in question, did not make this stop working. the only other party involved is the game and its developers. obviously the easiest conclusion to come to is that they pulled the plug for ps4 crossplay, which has been backed up by other people.

I'm thinking he's using P2P as the the original meaning of Peer-to-Peer instead of what most of you know as Pay 2 Play now.
Because that's what I automatically think of when I see P2P too, but then I've been gaming on PCs since the early 1980s when we had LAN parties (which were the original Peer-to-Peer).

As for your issue, I can't really say, because I've been in Twitch streams where they go 4-6-8 hours with cross platform (PS - PC - Xbox sometimes with one of each console, and two PC (Steam and Epic) going) co-op without issue.

unfortunately crossplay works differently for every console, at least from what I understand. some crossplay works fine. others, like apparently PS4 to PC, just dont work anymore

Nobody thinks about pay 2 play.

The problem will most likely be the ports on the host's internet connection. (routing through the NAT and firewall not working). Yes its proper old school P2P, no server to speak of.

no were attempting this from two different timezones of the US. (like I said before though it used to work flawlessly)
