The reason why you can't get it across is BECAUSE you are using an offroad truck. These trucks are for light payloads and the construction trailer is not a light payload. If you overload your trucks, they get stuck easily and/or they get thrown around by their own payload. Use a heavy truck instead.
The second reason why you can't get it across is the route you picked. Do the river crossing with one of the Pacific heavies (like the P16 that luZk proposed) or any Derry, and it's going to be a piece of cake. If you use the P16 and hit one of the underwater logs, just back up a bit and then hit it again until it breaks, or force your way with a winch to break it. If you know the P16 well, you can do this crossing without using the winch at all. It can be done with lighter trucks but it gets more difficult since you have to be more mindful of the mud depth as well as the water current.
If you instead take the highway route up until the elbow turn where you have to clear the rockslide and then try to go down the snaking dirt road that leads to the wooden board bridge that you have to build, you're gonna get stuck at one of the mounds there. Between the many trees branches and the mounds, this route is a trap. Either do the water crossing if you want to do it fast, or take the very long full highway road across the whole map if you're not suitably equipped.
I've done this run dozens of times in multiplayer and you don't need any mods or any OP trucks for that matter. You just need a truck that is intended for the payload, and to choose your route properly.
Best to delay this mission until you get a better truck - such as the Pacific found on Smithfiled Dam. Even then, wait till you have earned enough upgrades to be able to safely extract it.
Yeah, you're right. It's entirely true that you can do it with those too. But they all come with extra trouble that you don't get with the heavies that are designed for heavy payloads.
If you take the Fleetstar, the saddle will have articulation problems with semi-trailers depending on the route. I've had this truck lose steering entirely because it just hangs from the semi-trailer and its front wheels won't reach ground when going down a slope (the opposite can also happen, where it doesn't get a wide enough degree of motion if you're going upwards). It's not a good idea to use the 2070 with high saddles.
If you pick an ANK or other offroads, you become susceptible to the water pushing you if you attempt the water crossing (I've had to drag many people out of it that were using offroads, usually ANKs). And if you just take the long dirt and highway route, then you have to be careful to manually regulate your speed with the gearbox because the semi-trailer is heavy enough that it can push an offroad truck around. And with its soft suspension and high clearance, the ANK isn't the most stable truck to drive when loaded, to begin with (I've also have assisted lots of people that wrecked this one).
The heavy duties in general can do it, but can also end up with higher than optimal weight per tire surface area for the water crossing and can get bogged; doesn't help that their lower mass in proportion to the semi-trailer when compared to the heavies, makes the semi-trailer harder for them to control (and the semi-trailer also gets pushed by the water current somewhat). Some of these are also light enough to get pushed by the water current, and I've seen quite a few get stuck at the river crossing. This is why I also said "if you're not suitably equipped, take the very long route across the whole map".
A heavy can do the water crossing without getting pushed, can bite deep enough into the mud without getting bogged, and can also do the regular long highway route at max speed without concerns for stability/flipping sideways because it has enough mass to handle the payload.
Oh. I didn't realize it was boredom. So there's no bias on your part if you say that any truck is good for the task even if "any truck" can give you additional headaches (as I described above in detail) that you won't get when you pick a heavy that is specifically intended for that type of job? And more so considering that the person who posted is already struggling?
You even mentioned the Fleetstar specifically, which doesn't articulate well with high saddles, and that is exactly the type of saddle that you need for this job.
Then you either hooked to something too weak or you are using too weak of a winch you can get stronger ones unlocked when you level up
I've reset the mission, did the two first deliveries again, went all the way south to get the trailer, took the route you suggested...and got the trailer stuck again, in the water, pushed slightly off the mud trail by the current. Can neither push it forward nor backwards, even with winch.
Altogether like 5 hours of work in two attempts, for nothing. And it wasn't enjoyable one bit.
I'm giving up and uninstalling.
What a ♥♥♥♥ game.
its not a bad game just a bad player :p taking the wrong path or using the wrong truck configuration
