Why do people hate articulated trucks?
I mean when the FEMM came out, people were like "yeah it's very good, but it's articulated so I'll never use it"...

Being articulated is harder to drive, that's true, but it gives some unique advantages, especially in mud, where wiggling left-right does a lot more than wiggling left-right on a normal truck.

Depends on the truck and some get affected more than others, but bumps, twists and rocks can cause the truck to steer away from your intended direction, and if you're in a tight spot you may not have much room for twisting your truck in the way you want/need to.

Yea that's true, that's a pretty big downfall, but I would say it doesn't warrant as much hate as they get. Some people hate them with a passion :D

For me, it's nothing so pragmatic as all of that. I just don't like the way they move.

Once that articulating part gets stuck on a tree, it immediately becomes my most hated vehicle.

The 40-20 is one of the best vanilla vehicles in the game. Its pulling power is equal to the Mastadon. The issue is un even terrain. But on flat thick muddy paths it cant be beat.

It's my favorite truck, and I'm biased towards it because I intentionally kept using it until I became very good with it xD

For reference, I'm flipping the Azov Antarctic waaaaaaay less than the twinsteer, or even the bandit (which IMO is the most unstable truck in the game if you use the crane with it, and without the crane, I'd just use the tayga because it's better xD).

The game is still riddled with collision errors which in turn sends the vehicles jumping up a couple of inches and crashing down so hard that the vehicles flip over with all cargo spilling out!. I believe IT'S NOT THE VEHICLES BUT THE GAME ITSELF!!

I feel the actuators pushing the cab to steer are not strong enough in many off road situations.

Especially if the cab is somehow tilted - is in some ditch or hole - and the rest of the truck is not. Impossible to steer and the only way to release yourself from this inability to steer is backing up. When this happens a few times you will not like this truck for some routes.

It also rolls quite readily when tilted and steering.

I consider it to be exchangeable with the Twinsteer in routes that are well suited for that one. The big wheels do well in marches, mud and snow but there should be no terrain that lets the vehicle tilt or roll.

I don't hate them, I just like the wheel steered vehicles more.

Can happen with any trailer as well, but I know the pain you mean.

There are big differences between the articulated vehicles. I have zero problem with the Cat 745c or the Aramatsu Forester for instance. But the Kirovets vehicles suffer from very poor turning radius due to their articulation application (it doesn't need to be that way).

The FEMM I really do not like for 3 reasons. 1. it has the same poor turning radius because of the implementation of the articulation like the Kirovets, 2. It has no twisting functionality to the articulation unlike other articulated vehicles, so it is a lot more susceptible to falling over, and 3. it's articulation power is often too weak to steer against the grooves or obstacles on your path. I find it very unpleasant to drive. It is challenging, but not in a rewarding way.

Yep, I know what you mean because I have had trailers and everything else stuck on poles or even skewered and impaled because the game has improper Collision, Physics, and NAV-MESHING and it sucks.
