Do dlc change base game?

Hi. I am a fan of mudrunner and been considering getting snowrunner,but the amount of dlcs simply scares me off. I wonder if these dlcs just add more stuff to do and play with or maybe add mechanics that also change how base game can be played. Basically,does this game have dlcs that adds quality of life you would consider a must have?

They DLCs are just extra content. They don't really change the base game except you can drive the trucks you get from DLC on the base game maps. You just get more trucks and upgrades for the DLC trucks plus new maps to explore and deliver cargo on. I think the only two upgrades for base game trucks in the DLC are: AWD for the TwinSteer in Kola Peninsula and the Active Suspension Upgrade for the AZOV 73210 in Amur. Is this a major improvement for playing the base game? Probably not.

There's also AWD for that Michigan GMC, again in Kola.

As I understand it, the developers did add game mechanics as they added DLC (like, I think someone said there was no logging until one of the DLCs was added), but those game mechanics were then available in the base game, too.

Base game has pretty enough trucks to be fun and enough content for 100+ hours of gameplay. I advice you to get the base game only and buy season/year pass later on sales.
